Vintage original 3.75 x 8 in. tri-fold US herald from the teens preparedness-themed documentary, U.S. NAVY OF 1915, released in 1915.
The front cobver depicts President Woodrow S. Wilson on the bottom and the interior depicts the early motion picture pioneer/showman, Lyman H. Howe, who is depicted in the interior. It is in fine+ condition.
This three-reel documentary, which had been long celebrated, was thought to be lost until its recent re-identification. U.S. NAVY OF 1915 was made with support of Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the Navy, as a concentrated effort to harness the power of the moving image to stir isolationists into supporting the build-up of the American naval force.
