Vintage original 9 x 12 in. US WWI-themed sheet music from the 1920s war drama/romancew, THE SHOPWORN ANGEL, released in 1928 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Richard Wallace.

 

Entitled A PRECIOUS LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE, written by Lou David and J. Fred Coots, this "song with ukulele arrangement" was published in 1928 by Remick Music Corp. and the front cover depicts Gary Cooper and Nancy Carroll. Consisting of 6 pages, it is in near-fine condition with separation along the bottom half of the spine.

 

*"The Shopworn Angel is a 1928 American part-talking romantic drama film directed by Richard Wallacestarring Nancy Carroll and Gary Cooper. The film was released by Paramount Pictures in a silent versionas well as a sound version using the Movietone sound-on-film system. This film was owned by Turner Entertainment and was distributed through Warner Bros.

 

This film was nearing completion when The Jazz Singer (1927) was released. Dialogue was written for Gary Cooper and Nancy Carroll to compete with "talking pictures". The last scene was a wedding and the only lines of dialogue spoken in the film are Cooper's "I do" and Carroll's "I do". In addition, Carroll is also heard singing the theme song."
